A short shoot 'em up I made with a 16-bit style. It was made in about a week for a game jam, using the Godot game engine since it was easy to get a good grasp of. I'm looking forward to feedback and advice!

There are five levels in total, with the last being a boss stage. Once you get a high enough score in each level, you can move on to the next stage. There are many unique enemy types, as well as health items and powerups that can be dropped from them. Each level has great background art and music made by https://ansimuz.itch.io/, go check him out, he makes some cool stuff! I hope you enjoy the game, and thanks for playing!

New Update: I recently decided to come back to this project as I thought it would be fun to add a little more to it. I fixed some issues the original version of the game had, and added a few new things. There is now controller support, a score goal showing how close you are to beating the level, a new enemy type, a more difficult final boss, and a brand new multiplayer mode!

Like this a lot better than the mobile version indeed. Struggling a bit with stage 3, seems like a big jump in difficulty. Feeling a bit two-sided. On the one hand I think the pacing is a bit too sluggish, but at the same time, given stage 3 is a lot harder, it's also fine.

More and different powerups would make the game slightly better I think. But nonetheless a nice game!

Almost made it through stage 4, but have to do other things now. However, like it quite a bit. It has quite a complete feel to it. Nice music differing per stage, the multilayered background, the polished ships, all gave me a bit of a 'Raptor' vibe.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback.

Nice Game!
I have some feedback:
- add controls at start of the game and make them fade after a few seconds
- make the asteroids a little transparent or darker to give a sense that they're not on the same layer and they wont hit the players
also, if you plan to make them hit the player too that would make it harder and fun as well maybe in a difficulty or next stage, but i think the player speed need to increase or their speed decreased

Thanks! I'll add controls in the next update, it shouldn't take too long. Also, about the asteroid thing you said. There are larger brown asteroids in a later level that can damage you, but I'll try to change the background ones to blend in better.
